21.12.06    84% Of Callers Dont Leave Voicemail Messages! Comment  More>>

According to recent research around 84% of callers will NOT phone back upon hearing your voicemail message. A shocking percentage but perhaps not suprising as thinking of it I hate speaking to a machine. Therefore unless you have your own Call Answering Service you could currently be throwing away up to 84% of customers and so a MASSIVE amount of profit and additional business via referrals.

But there is a solution! How would you like to promote your business as Open 24/7 365 for as little as £19.99 per month with your own Call Answering Service? Well you can, as Phonenumbers4u can answer your phone calls on your behalf when your unavaliable. Another unique selling point that will give you a HUGE competitive edge over your competitors.

19.12.06    0870 Phone Numbers Call Charge Comment  More>>

Many businesses and customers contiune to be confused on the call charge of 0870 National Phone Numbers, so I’ve decided to write this post to clear up the 0870 call charge once and for all. Now unlike 0871 Numbers which call charge is fixed at 10p per minute, 0870 numbers per minute call charge varies depending on the time of your call. The list below shows the cost to dial an 0870 number from a BT, NTL etc landline.

  • 0870 Daytime = 7.51p per minute
  • 0870 Night = 3.91p per minute
  • 0870 Weekend = 1.5p per minute

Mobile rates will vary I cant really list the 0870 cost from a mobile as it depends on the price plan you’re on therefore I would advise that you contact your network operator.

15.12.06    070 Phone Numbers To Change To 06 Prefix Comment  More>>

Rumors are growing that 070 Phone Numbers are to change to a new 06 Prefix in the next few years, 070 numbers which are UK personal numbers are thought to change to the new prefix as some mistake them for mobile numbers.

Nothing has been decided yet, but if Ofcom did decide to go ahead with this change then it would mean major disruption to those who currently use 070 numbers and especially those who currently use their 070 number for business use as it would mean that their advertising would become useless.

11.12.06    Premium Rate Scam Alert! Comment  More>>

Be on guard! There is a Premium Rate Scam which I was fortunate enough to avoid.  A few weeks ago I received a call from an automated machine which when answered said “hello can you hear me? I cant hear you very well can you call me ba…” then the line went dead. The whole message from start to finish was distorted and I could bearly make out the words.

Now heres the SCAM, if you call 1471 to retreive the CLI number you’re told its from a phone number starting with 070, although I believe that 99% of 070 Numbers are genuinely routed to landline or mobiles, I know that this one is routed to a Premium Rate Number! Therefore if you ring back this 070 number you WILL be charged at £1.50 per minute rather than 25p - 30p per minute for the call.

I didnt personaly call the number, but I presume that when you do it plays a message which gives the impression that you’re on hold and are being connected to someone, but this is likely to last for at least 3-4 minutes meaning £4.50 - £6.00 off your BT phone bill!

If anyone has been caught out by this SCAM please contact us, as we’ll gladly assist you by alerting Premium Rate Regulator ICSTIS and assist you in claiming a 100% refund.

Did you know that if you use an 070 “Follow Me” Phone Number you can be contactable 24/7 regardless of whether you’re at home, at work or on the move! As this incredable new technology will divert calls made to your 070 Number to your first number and then if theres no answer the call can then be re-routed to a secondary phone number! Many clients have their 070 Numbers set up so that if they reject or cant answer a call it is automatically re-diverted to their secutary!
