21.08.07    070 Phone Numbers to Have Cost Per Minute Disclaimer Comment  More>>

It’s official as of September 2007 all 070 phone numbers including those on K rate and PN2 Rate will have per minute disclaimers played by the network the caller uses to ring the service. This move is believed to elimainate scams where fraudsters use the numbers to trick the public into callers to phone the number and be billed anything up to 50p per minute.

It is also expected to eliminate 070 number owners who lie about the price of calling the number. Phonenumbers4u once heard a lady who was telling callers that calls to her number cost 2p - 5p per minute to ring where it actually cost 50p per minute!

With this move as the cost is disclaimed at the networks end e.g. if you call from a 02 mobile phone then they’ll notify of the cost to call likewise if you call from a Virgin Media or BT phone then they will let you know what the cost is rather than the owner of the premium number.

It’s my hope that this is a move closer to having calls disclaimed at the networks end for ALL premium rate calls as some rougue users often lie about the cost to call the 090 number.

  1. To the Comment Above or below - I don’t think it will help Putting a call cost on the phone for 070 personal numbers,
    Of cause I don’t think it’s right to Lie about the call cost but still what is the point about lyeing on how much it is to call a 070 number, it’s hard enough to make people to call them anyway as you can’t give away thrid-party payout’s on these numbers anyway!

    Just think about the hav’ork it’s going to cost big companies ie: named

    FLEXTEL - http://www.flextel.co.uk/
    Yac - http://www.yac.com

    Even though this company (YAC) rips you off anyway on there affililate program Check this out

    Annual Subscription: Monthly Subscription:

    * 25-49 SALES earn £27 * 25-49 SALES earn £16
    * 50+ SALES earn £31.50 * 50+ SALES earn £20

    We all know as providors, we make money out of these 070 numbers

    It’s hard enough just to give them away never mind telling people how much it is to call them!

    It will not work beleave me!!!!
